Pick the material you like or match it for the occasion. Tear or cut the material into 5" by 1-1/2" strips. Lay the peices of fabric under the string and begin to tie them into knots. You can adjust them to the space you prefer, I did every 5 inches.
Voila... make as many as you need and then hang them up.
I think they look fantastic!! Next time I'll make some for our boat and use boating theme material.
