Tot Talk: Babies Swimming

Getting your baby ready for water early is so important from a safety point of view and it's a lot of fun too. Parents used to be advised to wait until their baby had had their immunizations at two, four and six months before they took their babies swimming, but health experts no longer believe this is necessary, so it's completely up to you when you want to start taking your baby to the pool.
This an excellent video on babies & water and the instructor is great.
Swim diapers are a good investment but aren't compulsory in most swimming pools, bathing suit are a good idea and don't worry if your baby has an accident, staff know what to do. It's up to you how you want to dress your baby. Just make sure you are both having fun.
Ito help with getting our babies used to water we would always make bath time fun. We would gently splash water over our twins or we would lay them on their backs and move them gently through the water. Laugh and smile all through the bath time experience.
Keep it fun, but NEVER leave them.. even for a second. These little ones are so adorable.
